North American Technician Excellence Certification

NATE is the nation’s largest nonprofit certification organization for heating and air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration technicians. Our technicians are all NATE-certified so our consumers can rest assured knowing they are getting the best installation and service for maximum comfort and economy in their heating and cooling system. Better installation and service means a longer life for your heating and cooling equipment and increased energy efficiency.

Health Care Construction Certification

Current Mechanical’s team includes project managers who have their Health Care Construction Certification recognized by the American Society for Healthcare Engineering. This means that they have been trained to articulate factors that are unique to the planning, design, construction and renovation of health care facilities and implement best practices based on those factors. Our focus is to provide a safe health care environment during construction and renovation of health care facilities. We make it a priority to identify codes, standards and compliance issues that potentially could be impacted during planning, design, construction and renovation, then implement measures to ensure compliance. We actively participate in communication with the health care construction or renovation project team and stakeholders.

Our fire protection team are experts in the industry having undergone NFPA-specific training. We know all of the required steps to meet the required qualifications.

Safety Excellence Award

Current Mechanical was awarded the BAC (Building and Contractors Association) as well as the MCAA (Mechanical Contractors Association of America “25% Better Than National Recordable Average Award,” and Safety Awards evidence of our commitment to the safety and well-being of our workers.

Green and Sustainable Operations

Current Mechanical has completed a number of LEED projects—perhaps most notable the innovative Platinum certified Sweetwater Sound facility.

We’ve also taken steps to make our own building in downtown Fort Wayne—a brown field project—as green and sustainable as possible. On November 1, 2001, the old Falstaff brewery was a shell of its former self, stripped of brewing equipment but full of tons of inoperable equipment, scrap metal and rubbish. It was boarded up, occupied only by some groundhogs. Sprinkler pipes and roof drains had frozen and broken apart. It was an eyesore on the east side of the city of Fort Wayne.

It was a matter of pride to make this facility an efficient environment for our business, a sterling example of our skills and a showcase of commercial redevelopment for an area of Fort Wayne that was in serious need of help.

We removed more than 150 tons of scrap steel and iron, along with trash that had accumulated through the years. Then we replaced 100,000 square feet of roofing, applied new paint and installed entirely new electrical, plumbing, HVAC, sprinkler and alarm systems. The project, totaling five acres under roof, was complete in just 11 months.
